Almost half-way to a year

Alex turned 5 months old today. I’m sure most parents would agree with me that the time just seems to fly by when you’ve got a baby to keep you busy. It’s hard to believe that so much time has gone by so quickly.
He continues to grow and learn new tricks everyday. Lately he’s taken a new fondness to screaming for no apparent reason. It’s not a sad or an angry scream. It’s just screaming for the sake of screaming. If he weren’t so cute while he was doing it, it would probably drive us bonkers. But we tolerate it, and Mommy is determined to teach him how to use his indoor voice. We’ll see how that goes.
He’s also started rolling all over the room, which can be rough some times because we don’t have a lot of carpet. It’s becoming a frequent occurrence for him to roll off the rug in the family room and bump his head on the imitation hardwood floor. Surprisingly, imitation hardwood still hurts like real hardwood when you bump your head on it. Nobody said growing up was going to be easy.
It’s been a great experience for all of us, and we look forward to what we’re going to learn and do each and every day.
Oh, just wait. He’ll find even more annoying noises to make…a new one every week! Ask me how I know!
He is awfully cute and you’re right, the time simply does fly by. We’re one month away from our first birthday. I can’t believe Joshua’s been around for almost a whole year!
Let me know how that indoor voice thing goes. If Sara figures out how to get Alex to use his, maybe she can give me some pointers for Ty.
Michael LOVES to yell! He will clench his fists and yell, just for the fun of it! It’s a great sound that is easy to make.
It’s even better when Katie and Michael both try to out yell the other!
